Nothing Will Change Without Him

When I was in college studying to be a law clerk, I remember sitting in my criminal law class and it dawned on me.  Nothing was going to ever change in our nation outside of Jesus.

Lately, 2 Chronicles 7:14 has been coming up in my spirit often.  Nothing is going to change without a few things: humility, prayer & repentance.  Nothing is going to change without Jesus.  Without the church praying.

Every word of this scripture is BOLD, is CONVICTING, LIBERATING and TRUE.  It’s time.  Time for us to pray.  No more ifs.  No more buts.  Letters to MP’s are great, letting our voice be heard, that’s all great.  But real prayer and true repentance is what its really needed.  Useless arguments are getting us no where.

This will be a short post today, simply to say this:  we need to get back to prayer.  We need an encounter with Heaven.

1 Corinthians 1:18 Amplified
For the message of the cross is foolishness [absurd and illogical] to those who are perishing and spiritually dead [because they reject it], but to us who are being saved [by God’s grace] it is [the manifestation of] the power of God.

The Garden

I hope you have had a wonderful week, readers!  We sure have!  Since you heard from me last, we have welcomed another niece!  My sister and her husband have a new addition: baby Lexi.  We couldn’t be more thrilled for them… she is so beautiful I can’t wait to get some more baby snuggles in this afternoon ❤  I love watching my sons with her, they love their new cousin already.  It’s a very special way to gear up for Passover weekend – a new life.

Yesterday was good Friday.  The day that Christians all over the world remember the price that Jesus paid for us on the cross.  That’s a neat thought, isn’t it?  Celebrating and remembering at the same time all over the world.

I love the Garden of Gethsemane.   In my early twenties I went to Israel, and the Garden was one of my favourite places we visited.  Before going I was volunteering at the church I was to be traveling with, and they asked me to do up a booklet researching each major location that we were to be visiting.

As I read about Jesus asking the Father to take this cup from Him – to change the already destined series of events leading up to and including the cross – as He struggled knowing to what degree His torture and suffering would be…

And His own disciples couldn’t stay awake long enough to pray for Him.  They didn’t get it.  If they could have seen into the next day, would Read More »

Just To See Him

I was praying this morning for a word for you, readers.  I didn’t want to write a post just for the sake of getting my weekly post up.

So this is for someone out there.

The Lord brought me to 1 Timothy 4.  I love this whole chapter.

1 Timothy 4:12-16 NKJV
Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
Till I come, give attention to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership. Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all. Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.

Paul was telling Timothy that he was not too young to be called by God, to be CHOSEN by God for a purpose.  He challenged him not to neglect the gift that was in him.

You are called.  Don’t neglect the gift that is in you.

And that’s what I believe the Lord gave me for you today, friend.  You are not too young, too old, too uneducated, too ________________ (you fill in the blank).  You have gifts inside you – are you using them for His glory?  Are you walking in your destiny?

I absolutely love love LOVE verse 12.  “Be an example to believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.”  In what way does that challenge you?  What example are you setting?  Are you ruled by the flesh or by the spirit?  Are you walking in love, in faith, in purity… are you conducting yourself in a way that brings glory toRead More »
